Liesl Luy specializes in resort, second-home, and investment property sales throughout Durango, Purgatory Resort, and the surrounding mountain communities. Since joining Durango Mountain Realty in 2020, Liesl has become one of the area's leading resort-market specialists, completing more than 120 transactions in the Purgatory Resort Area alone. As a Resort & Second-Home Property Specialist (RSPS) and Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR), she helps buyers and sellers navigate the unique considerations of mountain ownership, including vacation rentals, HOA structures, resort amenities, and long-term investment potential.
Many of Liesl's clients are purchasing from out of state, and she enjoys helping them learn not only about the property itself, but also about the lifestyle that makes Southwest Colorado such a special place to own real estate. Whether a client is searching for a ski condo, mountain retreat, retirement home, or investment property, her goal is to make the process as smooth, informative, and stress-free as possible.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Liesl earned degrees in Spanish and Anthropology before living and working in Mexico and Brazil. Those experiences helped shape the communication skills and cultural perspective she brings to every client relationship today.
After discovering Durango and the San Juan Mountains, Liesl quickly fell in love with the area's combination of world-class skiing, rafting, hiking, and small-town charm. When she's not helping clients, she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband Brian and their dogs, Lua and Alma.
Liesl believes that owning property in Southwest Colorado is about more than real estate, it's about creating a place to gather with family and friends, build memories, and enjoy one of the most beautiful mountain communities in the country.
